Prominent Democrat Karen Bass was another shining example of her party’s extreme hypocrisy this weekend.
Multiple sources, both in L.A. and D.C., reported that Congresswoman Bass (D-Calif.) had her home burglarized on Friday night. Despite her extreme anti-gun voting record, she owns at least two firearms that were both stolen by the burglars. (RELATED: Crime Spikes in Vulnerable Democrats’ Congressional Districts)
The Hill has the following statement from Bass:
“Last night, I came home and discovered that my house had been broken into and burglarized,” the Congresswoman, who is also running for mayor of Los Angeles, said in a statement on Saturday.
The burglars appear to have stolen two firearms, which the Los Angeles mayoral candidate noted were “safely and securely stored.” No cash, electronics or valuables were taken, she said.
“It’s unnerving and, unfortunately, it’s something that far too many Angelenos have faced,” Bass added.
Per the quote, Bass alleges that her guns were “safely and securely stored.” Nonetheless, they were stolen. This shows how inefficient the “safe storage” provisions some members want to include in future gun control legislation really are.
The Hill also added the following:
There have been 9,836 burglaries reported to the Los Angeles Police Department so far this year. This is up 15 percent from the same time last year, which saw 8,549 burglaries in the same time period.”
Bass is a Member of Congress representing California’s 37th District and was on President Biden’s VP shortlist in 2020.
Bass is currently running to be mayor of Los Angeles to replace Eric Garcetti and appears to be the frontrunner.
Per the Los Angeles Times from Aug. 26, “Rep. Karen Bass has built a double-digit lead in the Los Angeles mayor’s race with a little over two months to go until election day, firming up her base among the city’s Democratic voters and eroding Rick Caruso’s margin in the San Fernando Valley, a new poll shows.”
Bass edged out Caruso by single digits to finish first in the blanket primary, where the top two vote-getters advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation. Since then, she’s widened her lead over her pro-law enforcement, Republican-turned-Democrat opponent by a 43%-31% margin, according to the most recent polling.
The irony of Bass having firearms in her home while she has voted against gun owners for nearly a decade while serving in Congress cannot be ignored. (RELATED: McConnell Caves on Gun Rights)
Bass also voted for the congressional gun control package that was shepherded through the Capitol in the wake of the Uvalde tragedy earlier this year, H.R 7910, which added numerous restrictions for law-abiding gun owners.

Another candidate for mayor that could be the punch line of a joke, if it wasn’t so serious. What in the heck are her qualifications for mayor? Does being a congresswoman make you a good mayor? Her record might indicate otherwise and for sure, other female mayors are having problems. But I think Los Angeles is “Lost Angeles” and she would be an excellent candidate to finish it off. Besides, now her guns are going to have to be taken off the street. What do you suppose safe and secure means in her mind? Is it the book shelf or the sock drawer? And it sounds like that was the only thing they took. That’s suspicious.

It seems that there are no actual qualifications to be a politician in our country today. Pretty sad… just meet the age and citizenship requirements and ur on the ballot.

And I agree, the burglary is very suspicious. When only one item, especially items like guns, are taken, it is almost always an “inside job”.
We are in for a seriously WILD RIDE, in Lost Angels and everywhere else. The current regime seems hell-bent on the destruction of the country. They will insulate themselves with money and everyone not part of the “ruling elite” will be serfs. It won’t take long to fail. Then they’ll be in a shooting war with our own government. If they don’t control the guns by then, it won’t be a long war…. That’s why they’re trying so hard to take them away.
Someone breaks in and go right to a Brinks safe with 2 hand guns inside and that’s all that was taken???????
