4 Sneaky Anti-Gun Moves Being Made Right Now in Washington, DC

Freedom is a fragile thing. Ronald Reagan poignantly noted, “We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” The concept of liberty only recently gained widespread popularity in the history of mankind. Even now, it occupies a tenuous position in our Democratic Republic. One which politicians take advantage of. With that in mind, here are five anti-gun moves, that conservatives — as vanguards of man's inalienable rights — need to watch out for.

Oversight Hearing

The Subcommittee on , , and Homeland Security of the United States House Judiciary Committee has scheduled an oversight hearing on the school shooting tragedy that took place in late May of this year in Uvalde, Texas. The hearing is titled “Examining Uvalde: The Search for Bipartisan Solutions to Gun Violence.”

It truly does appear as if Washington — more specifically the Democrats who control the agenda for the House Judiciary Committee for the next 20 days until Republicans formally retake the House — believes that the rest of America has a terrible case of amnesia.

Over two dozen Republicans in already caved on passing a measure in late July, ahead of the August recess when it was signed by President . Still, Democrats have once again decided to politicize a tragedy to push their radical anti-gun agenda.

Biden Still Pushing “Assault Weapons” Ban

President Biden re-upped his call for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” while speaking last week at the 10th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence.

This is one of the president's favorite topics to bring up with sympathetic audiences, but decades of data show that the 1994 ban that the President commonly references had no real effect on the crime rates in the United States.

As noted by the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action (-ILA)

“A 1997 Department of Justice-funded study of the 1994 ban by the Urban Institute determined that “at best, the can have only a limited effect on total gun murders, because the banned weapons and magazines were never involved in more than a modest fraction of all gun murders.”

In 2004, Congress chose not to re-up the ban due to being presented with tangible data about its inefficacies.

Alan Gottlieb — Founder and President of the Foundation (SAF) — was another individual quick to call out the blatant hypocrisy of Biden's renewed gun control push after he released convicted international dealer Viktor Bout in exchange for WNBA star Brittney Griner in a prisoner exchange with Russia last week noting the following in a press release last week:

“It is simply mind-boggling that Joe Biden could release the world's most dangerous arms trafficker while at the same time continuing his crusade to disarm American citizens. The hypocrisy is staggering.”

“Safe Storage” Provision Included in NDAA Reauthorization

Congress passed its annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill last week, which is commonly filled with members' pet projects because no one likes to be put on the spot for voting against funding the military.

This year, it included a provision for so-called “safe storage” of firearms. On one hand, this seems like a pretty common sense measure. So-called “safe storage” shouldn't be something to argue against to the daily passerby, but, as with any movement mandate, the question often comes up when it comes to enforcing such mandates.

The only place where this could truly come into play would be as an escalatory factor after a crime has been committed with a firearm that was not properly stored, unless you plan to allow federal agents into your home to check that you have a gun safe.

The effectiveness of the safe storage pilot program included in the NDAA will be examined after a trial period.

“Red Flag Yourself” Bill in Advances Through The House

H.R.8361, titled the “Preventing Suicide Through Voluntary Firearm Purchase Delay Act” is authored by ultra Progressive (read: borderline socialist) Congresswoman Pramilla Jayapal of Washington State.

Jayapal initially introduced the bill in July when it gained little traction. Still, the bill went through a committee markup last week and Democrats seem interested in considering the bill in front of the Judiciary committee in this lame-duck session ahead of the Christmas break and the 118th Congress which will be sworn in on January 3rd.

    Liberty, true national liberty, has been all but dead for 230-plus years.

    Liberty was officially lost in America when the 1787 cadre of Enlightenment and Masonic theistic rationalists (aka constitutional framers and founding fathers) made liberty a goal (almost a God as in France) instead of corollary of implementing the Bible’s perfect law of liberty (Psalm 19:7-11, 119:44-45, James 2:12, etc.) as the law of the land.

    • Our nation is not a theocracy. If you want a theocracy, go to Iran. The framers purposely deleted religious references from the Constitution. Many of them were Deists, which means they believed that God created the world, but that He takes no personal interest in what we do. On the Monticello site, we can find this explanation of Jefferson’s beliefs:

      “While Jefferson was a firm theist, the God in which he believed was not the traditional Christian divinity. Jefferson rejected the notion of the Trinity and Jesus’ divinity. He rejected Biblical miracles, the resurrection, the atonement, and original sin (believing that God could not fault or condemn all humanity for the sins of others, a gross injustice). In neither the eighteenth century nor today would most people consider a person with those views a ‘Christian.’”

      • Get over yourself. When Jesus returns, he will rule all the nations with a rod of iron for a millennia! All the criminal law of the Old Testament WILL BE ENFORCED! Don’t worry, people like you won’t be going into it. No trash allowed in his kingdom!

      • If we followed the biblical law given in the King James Bible, we wouldn’t have a satanic devil child like Biden in the White House. It would be almost a perfect society.

  2. America was sold down the river when the 18th-century founding fathers replaced Biblical responsibilities (based upon the moral law of God) for Enlightenment rights, and nothing demonstrates it better than the Second Amendment.
     
    Think about it: The Amendment WITH the wording “shall not be infringed” is the MOST infringed, licensed, and limited Amendment of the entire twenty seven. Furthermore, a future generation of our posterity is likely to see the Second Amendment whittled away entirely or repealed altogether. This is inherent nature and danger of optional Enlightenment rights versus non-optional Biblical responsibilities, such as the following:
     
    “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword [or today’s equivalent] in their hand … this honor have all his saints. Praise ye Yah.” (Psalm 149:6-9)
     
    “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house [beginning with spiritual and physical protection], he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Timothy 5:8)
     
    Which is more potent: 1) An optional right, or 2) A non-optional responsibility?
     
    Which is more likely to be infringed, licensed, and ultimately abolished altogether?
     
    Which did the pre-Second Amendment Americans look to for their authority to bear arms, with little or nor infringement?

    • Again, this nation is not a theocracy. The Founders specifically said that all religions were welcome. Why would they form a First Amendment … the very start of the Bill of Rights … if they did not hold that to be the most important? Freedom of expression, and freedom of religion. Jefferson further clarified by stating that the church and the government should have a wall between them. We worried not long ago about Muslims creating Shariah Law here, but then we turned around and tried to create our own version with Christian Nationalists. We should stick with the intent of the framers, please.

    • Your interpretation of the Bible is seriously flawed. Inserting your comments as if they are what the Bible/God really intended is equivalent to blasphemy. Please go and repent.

  3. Safe storage, in the confines of my home, is exactly that. Enter my home, better have a warrant. Break into my home, better give your soul to God.

A couple of ‘observations’ – 1) calling pram a “borderline socialist” is about as accurate as saying water is still wet. 2) Exactly what does ‘safe storage’ mean and WHAT does it have to do with national defense? Any weapons (tools) I may or may not have are my responsibility, not fedzillas. 3) slow joe still cannot ‘define’ what an “assault weapon” is but by golly he’s gonna ban them. He ‘claims’ he was the one who got AWB ’94 passed, apparently all by himself. Worked so well the first time he just has to do it again, likely with even more restrictions.

  5. Every single time the media takes a tragic event like the Uvalde School Tragedy, they turn it into a political event to somehow attack legal gun owners who ARE NOT THE PEOPLE CAUSING THE CRIMES! The fact that the owner of the rifle, which was an AR-15, obtained it illegally as he had had violent run-ins with the police, and should have never gotten past the background check. I totally agree that the age to purchase an AR-15, or any other rifle should be raised to 21. I also think that the age of majority should ne raised back up to 21 where it was for centuries. It was lowered on a lie as 18 year old’s rarely ever see combat. The facts are this. All of the procedures to harden the school against invasion by a shooter were all disregarded. Secondly the person in charge was incompetent to say the least. Also the police lacked the will to engage which cost so many more lives. GUN CONTROL IS NOT THE ISSUE!

    • Won’t agree or disagree with some of the points you raised but will point out that Uvalde was NOT a “tragedy” – it was an atrocity perpetrated by a deranged individual. Far too many people won’t call it that though as to do so would deflate a lot of the ‘get rid of all guns’ mentality.

  6. The more they take advantage of the lame duck session, the more they should be punished by the Republicans or failing that, by the trials after the war. Because failing that will inevitably lead to the civil war that they believe will finally deliver America to them. That is their goal and the entire reason behind all of these provocations and bullying of Emperor Biden and the entire democrat party with their Marxist coup. They shall not prevail and will be annihilated, never to make the American people suffer by their hand again. It is the only American way to handle it and the only outcome that they deserve.     • Just to remind the rest of the commenters who think this country should be a theocracy. There is no freedom in such a place. Freedom is not the realm of God. The God of Abraham which seems to be referenced here more than anything else demands obedience and laid out his laws many years ago. Most of men’s frailties are actually reserved for God, not man and that god is a jealous god, so freedom is his domain, vengeance is his domain, and all other things not allowed by the 10 commandments is his domain. He is not bound by his own rules, only his subjects are and that is why Satan as well as man (realizing the basic unfairness of this) has such a hard time obeying his rules. So along comes Jesus and says, no worry, just believe in me and I will take care of it with the big guy. Well that is all well and good, but some, such as our esteemed government believe that gives them an excuse to do whatever they want, as long as they profess their love for this guy. Some of them do this “religiously”. So we are left in the end with the laws we have made. These laws are now being broken and bent every day by our moron in chief, squatting in our White House. I see no reason to involve the big guy (God) in our attempts at making these criminals obey our laws. It is like apples and oranges, but these guys are definitely working against the best interests of America and Americans. Time to take out the trash. Anything else, like these discussions of God’s laws ruling the US is just a distraction and I’m pretty sure, God could care less about it. It just plain isn’t worshiping him, so he’s not going to like it anyway. People should stop talking for him, he is perfectly capable of doing whatever he needs to to make his point.
