Cops Step Up, Refuse to Implement Unconstitutional Gun Control Regulations Once Again

-

officials in the state of are the latest to step up and refuse to comply with drastic anti-gun regulations being implemented in their state, showcasing the true beauty of the system of checks and balances involved in America's governmental structure.

As previously reported in American Liberty News, Illinois governor JB Pritzker signed his state's into law earlier this week to kick off his second term in office.

The Daily Wire has since reported resistance from a number of law enforcement officials in the state, who now say they won't enforce the new laws:

“County sheriff's departments responded to the new law, assuring residents that deputies would not enforce such measures, including forcing Illinois residents who already own firearms to register them with the state.

In his letter, Greene County Sheriff Rob McMillen wrote that he would follow his “morals, beliefs, and obligations concerning protecting the rights” of the county citizens.

“These types of laws put law enforcement officers and prosecutors in a very precarious box, with us having to decide to not enforce laws that were passed by government bodies,” McMillen wrote. “But, as your Greene County Sheriff, I cannot sit back and let laws that strip Greene County citizens of their constitutional rights, and not take a stance supporting the citizens against a government that wants to trample on their rights.”

In the same piece, the Daily Wire also reported that Governor Pritzker responded to such claims from law enforcement officials across the state by threatening their jobs.

“The reality is that the state police is responsible for enforcement, as are all law enforcement, all across the state,” Pritzker said. “And they will, in fact, do their job or they won't be in their job.”

Constitutionalist cops in Illinois aren't the only ones in recent months that have stepped up for law-abiding gun owners and refused to implement regulations passed by radical leftists who have no tangible understanding of the true scope of the gun restrictions they wish to impose.

Late last year, a number of Sheriffs in the state of announced that they would not be implementing provisions of – passed by Oregon voters in November – which seeks to impose a “permit to purchase” firearms in the state, as well as magazine capacity limits.

  1. Said governor needs arrested for treason He hasn’t the authority to violate the constitution. His state agreed to it to join the union.

  2. Good for them!

However, this would have never been necessary under a biblical government in which it is expected that all God-fearing, law-abiding men are able and willing to defend themselves, their families, and others by whatever means necessary.

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword [or today’s equivalent] in their hand … this honor have all his saints. Praise ye Yah.” (Psalm 149:6-9)

“But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house [beginning with spiritual and physical protection], he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Timothy 5:8)

This unlike the Constitutional Republic that requires one jumps through its hoops to secure a permit to do the same and then turns on those who do to prosecute them for the same.

This is what’s known as “justice” under the Constitutional Republic’s CRIMINAL Justice System.

    • Ted, much truth there. We do, however, live in a fallen world, tainted by sin. God’s kingdom is yet to come, where true justice will rule the day.
Until then, we do live in a country that is a Constitutional republic, and was at one point the best idea this side of Heaven. We have let it degenerate morally. We must do all we can to restore it to it’s former glory, or at least hold back the dark waters. Our fight is spiritual, but also physical, real, and right here, and we must attend to all of it! Our ultimate.destiny is sure, but there’s much road to walk until then. Believers in Christ are not of the world, but we’re in it nonetheless.

      • James, thanks for responding!

A fallen world cannot be used as excuse for continued idolatry for those who claim to be subjects of the King of kings.

Idolatry is not so much about statues as it is statutes, such as what one considers the supreme law of the land.

There can only be one supreme law: 1) The Constitution, per Article 6, or 2) Yahweh’s moral law, per the Bible.

To futilely attempt to meld the two is to be as double minded as were the Israelites with Elijah on Mt. Carmel: Why halt ye between two opinions? If We the People (a contemporary form of Baal) be God, serve them. If Yahweh be God, serve Him!

        • I don’t need your quiz to know YOU don’t know 10th as much about EITHER the Bible OR the Constitution as the Founders. I know for a fact they ROUTINELY quoted more of the Bible than you actually understand.

          • Steve, I don’t believe that misunderstanding should be bullied; yes, Ted has has a definite disconnect and misunderstanding, but there seems to be an honest effort TO understand.

      • THAT is what they are afrad of, and that’s why they want to disarm the people, so they will not be able to fight back..

    • This is what HITLER did before confiscating all weapons, DELIBERATELY leaving the people defenseless, by HIS OWN proudly stated words! This is a precursor to subjugating the people.

  3. “The reality is that the state police is responsible for enforcement, as are all law enforcement, all across the state,” Pritzker said. “And they will, in fact, do their job or they won’t be in their job.”

    Good luck with that!

    • What he ignores is that the Constitution explicitly requires ALL officers, at ALL levels to take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. That means they are sworn NOT to enforce any unconstitutional laws.

      • And this billionaire trust fund baby governor took the same oath as these sheriffs as well as myself when I joined the military. There needs to be consequences for elected officials who try to usurp our Constitutional Rights.

  4. This is a joke !
‘Ol Jelly-Belly does not have the authority to fire any ELECTED official.
County Sheriffs are elected and are the highest empowered law-enforcement official in that county.
Good luck in court fatty, you’re gonna need it !

  5. The governor of Illinois proposed legislation , the state legislature enacted the proposal, which the governor signed into law. Elected law enforcement persons, county sheriffs, sworn law enforcement persons find the legislation troubling, to say the very least. Let the laws e proposer, and enactors enforce the law.

  6. Legislation nullification at its finest. ALL law enforcement agencies should always protect citizens Constitutional Rights.

  7. Having lived in Cook County, Illinois for over 60 years I am happy to see the Chicago Copers essentially telling this Two But Political Hack Governor along with the Worthless Mayor Lightweight to shove this unconstitutional law. Violent Crime in Chicago has risen exponentially mainly because Law Enforcement Hands have been TIED by Liberal Socialist Democrats. Good Citizens of Chicago are being maimed and killed by Repeat Offenders that should never have been released on the streets. We need politicians that Have the Police’s BACKS……Period!
