Drastic Minnesota Gun Control Measure One Signature Away From Becoming Law

A signature from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is the final step that remains to be taken on what has been called the “Kitchen Sink” gun control bill by gun rights groups.

Senate File 2909 has been passed out of both chambers of Minnesota’s legislature in the last two weeks.

Per the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), the measure “includes redundant universal background checks and “red flag” gun confiscations, posing a significant threat to our Second Amendment rights.”

The measure was opposed by a single Democrat and a significant number of Republicans in both chambers. NRA-ILA thanked them for their efforts in a legislative update published to the organization’s website earlier this week, stating the following:

“We want to express our sincere gratitude to all the Republican lawmakers who worked tirelessly, and passionately debated for approximately 9 hours in their respective chambers, striving to defeat this gun control package. Their dedication and commitment to upholding the principles of the Second Amendment should be commended.”

In the aforementioned release, the group also urged Minnesotans to contact Governor Walz and urge him to reject the measure, not sign it into law.

A typical legislative stampede where no thinking is permitted.

They need to get this stupid act before the courts, and real quick like. Surely even the left wingers are smart enough to know that when it gets to the SC they will throw it out as unconstitutional.

This is how you know those who propose or promote gun control are tyrants who oppose freedom and the U. S. Constitution. They will endlessly insist measures like this are necessary and constitutional, but they will NEVER define the constitutional limits on what they can do or quote (accurately) the text of the Constitution.

In the rare event someone quotes the Constitution to them, they will deny it’s clear meaning.

So why should law abiding gun owners comply with any unconstitutional firearms laws put forth by that legislature when that legislature does not comply with the tenants of the Supreme Court’s Bruen case ruling?

To all you Liberal nut jobs out there, we already have all the laws in place, they just need to be enforced. When I buy a gun in Michigan I have to go through a background check so WTF are you all ranting about? You are being spoon feed propaganda by the Communist Biden regime. They just want to confiscate all the guns for total control of the population. So don’t be fooled, if anything everyone should be able to carry concealed weapon for self protection from all the creepy scum out in our society.

Anything used in an assault could be called an assault weapon. I think that gun control laws are mainly feel good laws that accomplish nothing. Criminals do not obey them. Unless you can find and destroy all of these guns criminals will find a way to get them and use them to commit murder. And of course murder is illegal regardless of whether or not there are gun control laws.

I’m from neighboring Wisconsin. Many people there are hunters and believe that no one wants to take away their hunting firearms. Many folks are union members that vote the union line, as good workers are supposed to do. There is something written into an amendment of the state constitution that supposedly guarantee’s the right to bear arms. Of course federal law always overrides state law. That’s one of the reasons I left that state 60 years ago.
