EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Merchants in the heart of downtown Juarez, Mexico, are expressing concern following a Tuesday shooting that prompted some to seek shelter.
One man inflicted gunshot wounds on another around 4:30 p.m. and the victim ran from the vicinity of the Plaza de Armas, or city square, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral to nearby street markets. A municipal police report obtained by Border Report shows a caller alerted police he witnessed a man bleeding profusely at the corner of Mariscal and La Paz.
“I heard seven shots. I was tending to a client when it happened, but it was hard to tell where they were coming from because there was a lot of people,” one fruit vendor told Border Report news partner ProVideo.
Other merchants also expressed fear of being struck by stray bullets but declined to be interviewed on camera or give their names.
Police took the victim to a hospital and conducted a search for the assailant. No arrests were reported.
That evening, Juarez police and Mexican soldiers set up a checkpoint in the area known as El Centro (downtown) to check for illegal firearms and deter criminal activity.

If the decent people of Mexico were able to ‘carry’, this punk would have been reticent to even try to cause such a problem.
And if this person was to do this anyway, he could have been stopped ‘on the spot’!
Hence the NEED to continue to extol the virtues of the 2nd Amendment!
You, the reader, may have noticed that the majority of shootings in this country are in anti-gun states!
The ‘bad guys’ know that there is little chance that someone will shoot back.
The ‘moral of this story’ is obvious.
