Democrats are once again embodying the phrase “rules for thee but not for me.”
Congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri's First Congressional District has married a private security guard previously paid $62,359 by her campaign in salary and expense reimbursements, per Federal Election Commission (FEC) records.
STL Today notes that per FEC regulations, members of a candidate's family can be paid via campaign funds.
“Any continued employment of Merritts by the campaign appears to be allowed by FEC rules, which state that “campaign funds may be used to make salary payments to members of the candidate's family,” provided that the member provides a “bona fide service” and the payments “reflect the fair market value.”
Despite Bush's publically strong “defund the police” viewpoints and her role as a member of the “The Squad” – a group of far-left liberal representatives – she has spent thousands of dollars on private security expenses.
STL Today also notes:
“In her two years in Congress, Bush has drawn criticism for the amount of money she spends on private security while also being one of the most vocal advocates for a movement to defund the police.
Since January 2021, when Bush took office to begin her first term, her campaign has paid a total of $557,676 for security services.”
Axios compiled a list of security spending by members of Congress in February of 2022, and Bush was the top spender on the House side, spending nearly a quarter of a million dollars, about $233,000. She was only beaten out by Senators Raphael Warnock, Ted Cruz, Jon Ossoff, and Mark Kelly.
Cori Bush, like all brainless, leftist, anti American democrats, is a useless, subversive,,vile, worthless hypocrite. Her type of hypocrisy should cost her freedom. Things like this can not use our constitutional rights, while trying to destroy said constitutional
