Blue States Declare War On Basic Construction Materials

-

Brace for impact!

There is a new wave of nutty green initiatives infecting the blue states. Have you heard of “?” No, it is not the carbon in your body or what you breathe out.

Embodied carbons are the greenhouse emissions associated with manufacturing, transporting, installing, maintaining and disposing of building materials. In other words, cement is now an enemy of the state. That's right; the greenies have declared war on concrete.

The state of recently issued requirements for the use of “low-carbon concrete” for . What is “low-carbon concrete?” Is it concrete delivered by a Telsa? Maybe! (RELATED: Report: Automakers Will Give Your Personal Data To The Government)

According to the greenies, “low carbon concrete” has a smaller carbon footprint, which could mean that a has to deliver it. They also want to replace mineral compounds in concrete with fly ash or furnace slag. For me, this sounds dangerous. Do you want to drive over a bridge that was built with “low-carbon concrete?” I don't think so.

You might think that I am a worrywart, but there is reason to be concerned. In , our Democrat governor, several years ago, continued to use faulty asphalt even after the problems were revealed.  While other states dumped the tar, the commonwealth kept using the bad product, which forced us to repave roads two years later.

So now Massachusetts Democrats want to push requirements for ‘low-carbon concrete.” I see the potential problems. What could possibly go wrong with our hot summers and cold winters? If the state starts using this green concrete, I hope roads, bridges and buildings will be clearly marked so people are forewarned. (RELATED: Massachusetts State Of Emergency? More Like Self-Inflicted Wounds)

Of course, this special concrete will be more costly which means not only will it cost more tax dollars to build a project, but it will also raise the price for building a home. Then the greenie Democrats will go on a rampage about housing being unaffordable not understanding that they are the cause of the increase.

So, this year, Democrats have declared war on our cars, gas stoves, washers & dryers and air conditioners, to name a few items. Now, it seems that our roads, buildings and homes are on their list. I say live and let live!

  1. Ther left loves to give great sounding names to products they support. Like “zero emissions” cars. Of course there are emissions from generating electricity, they are just in someo0ne else’s back yard.

Sounds to me like these taxachussetts bureaucrats need some Louisville slugger therapy – with a low-carbon bat, of course.

  2. Who sits back and makes this s–t up??????? What idiots and it seems like we are turning out more & more of them !!!!!!!
