In Extraordinary Times, Republicans Must Embrace Extreme Tactics Or Lose

-

As conservatives, we need to have one focus for 2024. That's winning every elected office we can, whether it is school committee or the White House.

While this may seem very obvious, there are many conservatives standing on principle that jeopardize our possible electoral success. These conservatives believe that you only vote on Election Day and to suggest otherwise makes you a RINO (Republican In Name Only).

The other day while identifying votes for a candidate we received a tremendous amount of pushback on asking whether or not people were going to vote in person or by mail. Many suggested that our campaign was in the swamp by suggesting voting by mail.

Like these conservatives, I detest mail-in balloting. It makes campaigning far more expensive, and it cuts down the time a challenger has to make their case against an incumbent. I also worry about the security. However, when it is the law of the land, it cannot be ignored. For Republicans to stand on principle ignoring mail-in balloting puts us at a huge disadvantage.

Democrats are using this early balloting to bank votes. They are going after Democrats who normally don't vote and getting them to do ballots. Hence, they are increasing their turnout anywhere from 2 to 10%. That's a huge margin. No conservative candidate can afford to ignore this increase even in the safest districts.

We need to counter. (RELATED: Trump Announces Change Of Heart In Voting Measures He's Long Opposed)

Republicans/conservatives need to use mail-in ballots to increase their turnout by getting people who normally don't vote to send in a ballot. Moreover, we need to educate our fellow conservatives that campaigns using mail-in balloting are working to win, not sending a message of endorsement for this type of balloting.

When we take control back, we can abolish mail-in balloting. But first, we must win.
