Even Transgender Influencers Agree, Dylan Mulvaney’s Nike Campaign Exacerbates The Erasure Of Female Athletes

-

It's been a monumental week in the fight to save women's .

Any athlete who competes in a sport for a significant portion of their life will tell you that no matter what sport they compete in and at what level, it comes with a price tag that is far from insignificant.

A lot of that money is spent on proper equipment that enables an athlete to compete in their sport safely and reduce injury. That applies as much to footwear as it does to leggings and sports bras.

Sports bras, in particular, are worn to serve a purpose, and showing a biological man dancing around and wearing a sports bra that serves no purpose for him is a step too far.

By launching an ad campaign with – a woman – Nike spits in the face of millions of women who have spent billions of dollars on their products and contributes to the slow and steady erasure of women in both athletics and society as a whole that we are seeing today.

In my former life, I was an NCAA Division I athlete in the sport of rowing at the University of . Although I made it into the highest level of collegiate athletics by the skin of my teeth, and my athletic career was nowhere near as successful as former University of Kentucky swimmer and Independent Women's Forum Spokeswoman Riley Gaines (who was physically assaulted this week while giving a speech at San Francisco State University to defend Women's Sports)  or former Olympian Caitlin Jenner – who competed at the highest level of international athletics as a man before transitioning to be a female much later in life – we can all tell you that pure genetic differences exist between men and women, and those differences should be celebrated, not diminished for the sake of making a few bucks. Marketing for major international brands is supposed to be done to the masses, so why are so many advertisers taking their cues from the whims of a few overly loud voices in the corner of the room who are truly on the fringes of society?

Even other individuals that identify as transgender are coming out to condemn Mulvaney. – an influencer and now de-transitioned man who still has facial feminization surgery – rightfully ripped Nike for elevating Mulvaney, a man who critics say pretends to be not just a woman but a girl. Of course, Nike has been such an advocate for women that they also now infamously diminished a contract with Olympian Allison Felix during her pregnancy, who joined Athleta instead after such treatment by Nike.

The erasure of women and girls in sports is being perpetuated from every angle, but thankfully, several brave individuals are willing to stand up to the woke mob.

Just this week the Republican-controlled legislature in my adopted home state of Kansas overrode a Democrat governor's veto of a bill that bans boys from participating in girls' sports at the high school level.

Davis Hammet, a prominent LGBT rights advocate in Kansas said on Twitter the bill would “authorize genital inspections of children in order for kids to play sports,” calling the day it passed “very dark & disturbing.”

Democrats in the state are coming at a member of their own party – Marvin Robinson who represents Kansas City, Kansas – who cast the tie-breaking vote to override the governor's veto.

Many claims being made by the left on Twitter about Kansas' bill were even fact-checked by the , an outlet that is definitely far from being right-wing propaganda.

Yet still, the Star is willing to publish an piece that argues the same narrative their own reporters refuted.

Conservative talk radio host Pete Mundo shared the aforementioned op-ed from the Star saying that the “clown car continues.”

Even prominent members of the transgender community including (mentioned above – who competed in track as a man – Bruce Jenner, before transitioning later in life) realize that men and women are not the same.

Jenner has sponsored her own women's motorsport team – Jenner Racing – which is the home team of Formula W champion Jamie Chadwick. Jenner also announced this week that she was starting a political action committee to save women's sports.

In a follow-up statement, Jenner announced that she would work in other states to help them pass legislation similar to that of Kansas.

The select few loud voices in this country that are caving the narrative in their favor, and silencing other voices that fear the retribution of being called transphobic, bigoted or worse need to come to their senses and realize that men are not and will never be women.

The fact that prominent transgender figures are willing to call out members of their own community for this shows exactly how fringe the people pushing this narrative are.

Yet still, the is wielding its power to cave to the woke mob that wants to erase women, issuing a statement Thursday they would “disallow blanket bans” on trans athletes competing, despite the laws that actualize these bans being passed in states such as Kansas and South Dakota. Even the failed to act this week and refused to enforce a West Virginia law that would bar a transgender (male) athlete from competing against girls in the state.
