In Boston, Politicians Have Created A Sanctuary For Sex Offenders

Here’s just a small slice of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) arrest record across the Massachusetts over the last several months: In April, ICE arrested a Guatemalan illegal alien who was facing nine separate child sex crime charges. In August, ICE took into custody multiple illegal aliens from Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Brazil–all facing various criminal charges ranging from sexual assault to rape, child molestation, kidnapping and attempted homicide. In September, ICE apprehended another illegally present Brazilian charged with sexual assault. Then, in early November, ICE took detained a Colombian illegal alien charged with child sex crimes. And over the last few days, ICE tracked down three additional  illegal aliens, from Guatemala, Colombia and Brazil, facing child rape charges.

If you follow the news, you may have found yourself wondering, “What the heck brought so many illegal alien sex offenders to Massachusetts?” The answer is simple: Governor Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and every other sanctuary politician across the Bay State. It’s a scenario that is happening in almost every other sanctuary jurisdiction throughout the country.

Congress has repeatedly floated bills to legislate an immigration amnesty and reward foreign lawbreakers with permanent residence in the United States and a path to U.S. citizenship. However, those bills have never passed because Americans want secure borders. And they understand intuitively that when you reward lawbreakers, you just get more lawless behavior.

Massachusetts is part of a group of states and the District of Columbia where the ruling elites have decided they don’t like the fact that Congress won’t give them what they want. So, they have unilaterally declared themselves exempt from the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)–despite the fact that states have absolutely zero authority to pass any legislation concerning immigration.

These states have decided to characterize what they were doing as “granting sanctuary to aliens.” In reality, this was a deliberate effort to cover up their complete disdain for constitutional federalism and to make it sound like they’re doing something benevolent.

They aren’t. Sanctuary policies do absolutely nothing beneficial for the communities that implement them. In fact, they make communities significantly less safe. They are an invitation to illegal aliens to come exploit the sanctuary jurisdiction’s willingness to frustrate federal immigration enforcement. And wherever illegal aliens gather, so will people who exploit illegal aliens.

Sex trafficking and peonage (i.e., modern slavery) run rampant in illegal alien communities, and the street-level exploiters are invariably other illegal aliens. In 2022, ICE’s New Mexico Human Trafficking Task Force rescued 69 illegal aliens who were being held against their will in an Albuquerque stash house. Sanctuary policies attract this kind of horrific criminal activity because the bad guys (and gals) see them as an announcement that state and local governments will protect them from ICE.

If you doubt the truth of that statement, take a look at Maryland. Politically and demographically, Maryland is very similar to Massachusetts and it is also a sanctuary state. According to The Baltimore Sun, ICE has arrested 153 illegal alien sex offenders in the state of Maryland so far in 2024. Rachel Morin and Kayla Hamilton were raped and murdered by illegal aliens in Maryland–Morin by a Salvadoran, Hamilton by MS-13 gang members. Sensing a pattern?

What’s even worse is that proponents of sanctuary policies tend to justify their virtue-signaling practices by claiming that they’re looking out for the oppressed women and children of the developing world, who should be allowed to benefit from American views on gender equality and its free public education system. But this is the absolute height of hypocrisy.

According to a recent report by City Journal, sanctuary policies and the Biden administration’s refusal enforce the INA have led to a massive migrant crime wave. ICE has 662,566 accused or convicted alien criminals on its non-detained docket. (Those are folks that ICE is not locking up.) And 15,811 of those aliens have been convicted of sexual assault. Just to put that in context, the populations of Northborough, Raynham, Seekonk and Swampscott are all around 15,500-15,800. There are enough illegal alien sex criminals in the U.S. to fill a moderately sized Massachusetts town. And those are just the ones we know about.

What’s even more troubling is the fact that both Governor Healey and Mayor Wu have styled themselves as protectors of women’s and children’s rights. But who are the primary victims of the sexually deviant aliens using the Bay State as their sanctuary? Women and children. But, apparently, these two protectors of the downtrodden think it’s more important to protect criminal aliens from ICE than it is to protect the Commonwealth’s women and children from foreign sexual predators.

There is nothing wrong with petitioning Congress to change America’s immigration laws. But helping foreigners to break them is criminally irresponsible. It’s time for Bay Staters to stand up for their wives, mothers, sisters and children. Tell Governor Healey and Mayor Wu–and all of their anti-ICE co-conspirators–the citizens of the Commonwealth want safe cities, not sex criminal sanctuaries.

I always thought it was the Deleware Beachs that were a haven for Sex offenders, specifically where the Biden Clan resides.

Can we not hold these officials for crimes against humanity and violations of our US Constitution and probably their own State’s Constitution?
When will this insanity end? when the entire United States is no longer a nation of the free?
