Conservatives in the U.S. Senate are moving to block plans by the Biden administration to implement policies handed down by the United Nations' World Health Organization (WHO), citing the group's mishandling of the global COVID-19 pandemic, its hostility to the United States and its efforts to cover up Communist China's responsibility for the crisis.
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., introduced the “No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act.”
The legislation requires “any convention or agreement resulting from the work of the World Health Organization's (WHO) intergovernmental negotiating body be deemed a treaty, requiring the advice and consent of a supermajority of the Senate,” Johnson's office announced in a statement.
“The legislation comes as the WHO continues to move the pandemic treaty process forward and is expected to formally present a draft to member states later this month,” Johnson's office notes.
“After the Biden Administration's failed COVID-19 response and the WHO's mismanagement of the pandemic, Americans remain skeptical of continuing infringements on personal liberties and freedoms. The legislation would provide more transparency in WHO agreements and a constitutional check on the administration,” he adds.
“The WHO, along with our federal health agencies, failed miserably in their response to COVID-19. This failure should not be rewarded with a new international treaty that would increase the WHO's power at the expense of American sovereignty,” said Johnson. “I'm proud to reintroduce this legislation to hold the WHO accountable for their failures and increase transparency for the American people. The sovereignty of the United States is not negotiable.”
The legislation specifically notes the WHO responded to the COVID-19 outbreak with “unjustified delays informing member states about a potentially serious disease outbreak in Wuhan, China” and offered “repeated grossly inaccurate or misleading claims about the transmissibility of the virus and about the Government of China's handling of the outbreak.”
Sen. Johnson previously introduced the legislation in May 2022. Sen. Johnson is joined on the bill by Senators Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., John Barrasso, R-Wyo., Mike Lee, R-Utah, Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Rick Scott, R-Fla., John Hoeven, R-N.D., Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Steve Daines, R-Mont., Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Mike Braun, R-Ind., Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Katie Britt, R-Ala.

Article II, Section 2 only allows the President to enter Treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate. It also requires a 2/3rds consent (66 Senators in favor) which negates the Democrat slight majority they currently enjoy.
Biden can make all the Treaties he wants, but without the Senate’s Overwhelming Consent, said Treaties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on.
Biden is following the lead of his (still) boss Obama. Obama gave numerous speeches – including his last at the UN – in which he talked about the need for the US to give up “some of our sovereignty” to ensure world peace and stability.
In a dozen meetings, and while being lectured by CCP officials, Sec State Blinken has stated the UN needs to come into the US, to take charge of fixing our many “institutionally racist systems” and problems.
One way they are trying an end run around the constitution is the tsunami of illegals. Biden is keeping open our Southern border, to enable “humane migration.” He began stating his goal to bring in (and pay for) 2 million “immigrants and refugees” EVERY year at an immigration conference in conference in IA, in August 2019, long before his Presidential run. In actual fact, our southern border means nothing right now.
The UN wants unlimited mass migration and no borders. What better way to get the UN functioning within our borders than for Joe, or his replacement, proclaim that the UN should step in and handle the millions who have “migrated” to the USA.
