ANALYSIS – As part of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party's ongoing political plan to demonize and criminalize conservative Republicans, the now weaponized FBI is secretly targeting supporters of former President Donald Trump, ostensibly to prevent violence ahead of the 2024 election.
“Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country,” Joe Biden posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, last September, explicitly singling out the former president.
This can only end badly.
One senior intelligence official who works at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) told Newsweek that Biden's heated rhetoric could push his opponents into taking more extreme action — since they see that from the president on down, the entire system is arrayed against them.
While claiming to be pursuing ‘domestic terrorism' and ‘anti-government extremism' without reference to political affiliations or parties, classified data obtained by Newsweek shows that “the vast majority of its [FBI's] current “anti-government” investigations are of Trump supporters.”
“The FBI is in an almost impossible position,” says a current FBI official, who requested anonymity to discuss highly sensitive internal matters. The official said that the FBI is intent on stopping domestic terrorism and any repeat of the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. But the Bureau must also preserve the Constitutional right of all Americans to campaign, speak freely, and protest the government. By focusing on former president Trump and his MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, the official said, the Bureau runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.
“Especially at a time when the White House is facing Congressional Republican opposition claiming that the Biden administration has ‘weaponized' the Bureau against the right wing, it has to tread very carefully,” says the official.
Newsweek notes the question I have raised many times before: whether ‘terrorism' is the best way to describe the problem or if the counterterrorism methods developed over the past decade in response to Islamist terror groups are the best solutions for a purely domestic political problem.
I have noted before that there are a lot of now unemployed, or underemployed, counterterrorism folks, who are desperately trying to make their trade relevant again, by focusing their very niche tactics on fellow Americans instead of foreign terrorists.
But that should be happening.
“The current political environment is not something that the FBI is necessarily responsible for, nor should it be,” says Brian Michael Jenkins, one of the world's leading terrorism experts and senior adviser to the president of the RAND Corporation.
Still, that is exactly what the FBI did when after Jan 6, 2021, it changed its definition of AGAAVE (“anti-government, anti-authority violent extremism”) from “furtherance of ideological agendas” to “furtherance of political and/or social agendas.”
Now, for the first time, such groups were being labeled because of their politics.
Then, in October 2022 the Bureau quietly created a new subcategory—”AGAAVE-Other”— new group consisting of those who were a threat but do not fit into its standard threat groups.
The new classification, first reported by Newsweek, is defined as “domestic violent extremists who cite anti-government or anti-authority motivations for violence or criminal activity not otherwise defined, such as individuals motivated by a desire to commit violence against those with a real or perceived association with a specific political party or faction of a specific political party.”
That's a lot of ‘bureaucratese' to hide the truth.

Democrats just keep it coming to overwhelm the public and create doubt and apathy. There is nothing good left of the Democrat party – not one will stand up against the Biden regime connected with Obama and The World Financial Order that want total control of America.
I support Pres Trump, I support what MAGA is about. So do my beliefs go against the Constitution? Nope. Weaponized FBI? FYI, the FBI has ALWAYS had weapons! Now they are POLITICIZED along socialist Democrat lines.
Since Pelosi refused the National Guard request by Trump, she should be watched. Since Antifa and BLM were instigating, the should be watched. Since the FBI had informants and agents on the ground in the crowd instigating the attack on the capital, they should be watched. An objective investigation, not a witch hunt, would have exposed the truth, so Biden can go back to sniffing children and touching women knowing the extremists ate in his camp and not in Trump’s camp.
