At least seven people died after a driver deliberately ran them over in front of a migrant shelter in Brownsville, Texas.
Lt. Martin Sandoval of the Brownsville Police Department said the incident occurred this morning. The male driver is in custody.
Paramedics transported six victims to area hospitals. The condition of the surviving victims is unknown.
Per ABC News:
The driver is in the hospital being treated and under 24-hour guard watch, police said. Tests are currently being performed to check for alcohol and drug use, police said.
Investigators did not comment on a possible motive or whether the crash was intentional.
