Trump Ordered To Stand, Enter Plea Of ‘Not Guilty’

-

Former President has pleaded not guilty to all charges in the Jan. 6 indictment against him.

Unlike his appearance at the federal courthouse in Miami, Trump was requested by the magistrate judge to stand and formally enter his plea. Trump spent the hearing today 15 feet from . The special counsel and president reportedly looked at each other multiple times.

As CNN reports:

Magistrate Judge asked Trump how he pleaded to counts 1-4 in the indictment.

“How does Mr. Trump plead?” she asked.

“Not guilty,” Trump said.

Trump was released on minimal conditions of release pending trial, including not being allowed to communicate with witnesses except through a lawyer. The former president said he would abide by the conditions.

Both parties have agreed to the date for the next hearing, August 28, 2023. A trial date is expected to be scheduled at that time.

Most pundits expect the trial will be over before Election Day 2024.

  1. I am really enjoying reading the many opinion posts of highly respected lawyers, legal analysts, and legal experts all saying the same thing. Based on their knowledge of the law and based on Jack Smiths previous history they all believe that Trump will not be convicted of any of the charges and some even believe that most charges will be thrown out. One even posited that that is what Smith is hoping for. This one person says Smith has obtained what he desperately was seeking; PUBLICITY for his own political aspirations. .
