Governor Newsom Deploys National Guard To Clean Up San Francisco

-

Once heralded as the “Paris of the West,” 's rate and homelessness have taken away some of that shine from yesteryear. Above all, the rising crisis poses a significant risk to Bay Area residents, especially those in vulnerable communities.

Fearing the worse, Gov. has directed the and National Guard to combat drug dealing in the city.

Newsom announced the effort on Friday.

The New York Post reports:

The agreement will focus on “dismantling fentanyl trafficking and disrupting the supply of the deadly drug in the city by holding the operators of large-scale drug trafficking operations accountable,” the Democratic governor's office said.

“Two truths can co-exist at the same time: San Francisco's violent crime rate is below comparably sized cities like Jacksonville [] and Fort Worth [Texas] — and there is also more we must do to address public safety concerns, especially the fentanyl crisis,” said Newsom in a news release.

CHP will assist the San Francisco Police Department by assigning personnel and training, drug trafficking enforcement within certain areas of the city, specifically the Tenderloin area.

The National Guard, or CalGuard, has been directed by Newsom to identify personnel and resources that will help dismantle fentanyl trafficking rings.

The city's Tenderloin district, long known for having the highest crime rate in San Francisco, is considered the epicenter of the epidemic.

  1. “Two truths can co-exist at the same time: San Francisco’s violent crime rate is below comparably sized cities like Jacksonville [Florida] and Fort Worth [Texas] — and there is also more we must do to address public safety concerns, especially the fentanyl crisis,” said Newsom in a news release.

Let’s be clear, two of those cities actually arrest and prosecute violent criminals. One does not! As a long-time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, I can tell you most locals steer clear of going to San Franciso and have done so for years. We know the out-of-control crime situation in that city.

    • The crime rate reflects actual prosecutions, hence San Francisco’s “lower” violent crime rate.

  2. The poor National Guardsmen!! But some folks are wise and some are otherwise. Likewise, some Governors are wise and some Governors are otherwise.

    • Yes, but it’s not a lack of wisdom – or common sense – on his part. It’s a lack of decency, honesty and sincere motives.

  3. Then also do these:
    Bounties on drug dealers
    Clean up streets
    Return Police powers
    Remove homeless

  4. The foolish democrats have turned this state in to a hell hole, but now they need the cops and the National Gaurd to clean up their mess. Nice going you Govener Newsome.

  5. I am laughing my head off, it took this long for this so called governor to realize there is a problem? The city has gone down the toilet and no one cared, not Pelosi, not Newsom, not Biden. Shut the border would be the first step, then start deporting all the illegals!!

  6. First thing the guard needs to do is deport all the idiot politicians who are the reason why California is such a F’d up state.

  7. That’s rich Newsom. YOU are 100% THEE problem. You need to be swinging from a rope for TREASON.

  8. Siince WHEN is the CHPs job to take care of inner city problems……………….
And just a few days ago, didn’t oldscum say to the world that America should be more like californication!?!?!?! What’s with that?????

  9. Having been to Frisco a number of times and I’ll call it San Francisco when they stop calling Los Angeles LA, San Diego Daigo, and San Bernadino San Berdoo. With few exceptions I found the people in Frisco to have some real identity problems. They now have a crime problem. They had a chance to help vote the totalitarian government they have in Sacramento out but didn’t do it. They have homeless. They deserve both. They could end the crime and homeless problems by getting rid of the Socialists running not only their city but the entire state of California could clean things up by doing the same. They all had a chance to get rid of that Communist masquerading as a Democrat but didn’t do it. And don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about. I was born, raised and worked in that state until I retired and got out of there. It was no longer home.

  10. Just how does one interpret “directed by Newsom to identify personnel and resources that will help dismantle fentanyl trafficking rings”? Does this amount to “shaming” the personnel & resources into reducing their participation in drug trafficking? Newsom doesn’t seem to be telling them to actually DO anything, he is just naming them.
