O'Neill first took credit for the fatal gunshot that killed in 2014. O'Neill is on record saying he and another SEAL cornered Bin Laden before firing multiple headshots at close range during the 2011 raid on Bin Laden's hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The Dallas Morning News has more on the alleged altercation that took place in nearby Frisco:

In a written statement, Frisco police said O'Neill faces a Class A misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury and a Class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. Jail records list only the assault charge.

Frisco police declined to release more information Friday about the arrest.

Social- posts show that O'Neill, listed as a resident in jail records, was in Frisco on Tuesday to record a podcast at a cigar lounge.

O'Neill, originally from Montana, first said in 2014 that he fired the shots that killed bin Laden in 2011. The U.S. government has neither confirmed nor denied the account.

O'Neill has not responded to requests for comment. It's unclear if he has an attorney. (RELATED: Longtime ACU/CPAC Leader David Keene Speaks Out After Vice Chair's Resignation)

O'Neill retired from the military in 2012. The former SEAL Team Six member has received numerous commendations, including two Silver Stars and four Bronze Stars. He continues to have a significant presence in conservative media.

    • As it is your right to question anything. If you weren’t there, your question is mute at this point and time. “WE DON’T QUESTION, WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION”

“Questions cause delays, delays cause confusion, confusions cause distraction, distractions cause death and destruction.”

  1. this person has served his nation with pride. He is human like everyone else so let him be. He gave his life for this country & then to see what BIden is doing to this country must be heartbreaking for him.

    • Bin Laden was killed in 2011. O’Neil retired in 2012. He didn’t publicly take credit until 2014. The timeline is just fine.

  3. Odd how few still believe Islam had any thing to do with it. Odd the drones that flew into the towers were not commercial airlines..An engine was reportedly. proving the point.like who killed JFK? CIA

    • The 9/11 victims weren’t armed so why would you give the mastermind behind the attack the benefit of what you seem to believe needed to be a “fair” fight?

    • Charles Manson did not take part in multiple murders, he was convicted as the master mind that controlled those who murdered multiple people, even an unborn baby. Charles Manson was convicted for the actual murders that of which he was originally sentenced with the death penalty, but, under California statute, the death penalty was annulled so he was sentenced to life in prison. He had several appeals over many decades, all were denied and he died during incarceration. At the time, a bullet cost .25 cents and a cremation under $300! Were is the justice?
