White House Warns Lawmakers Another Mideast Country May Soon Face Invasion

-

Secretary of State dropped a bombshell on Capitol Hill amid intense fighting around the Ukrainian stronghold of Avdiivka and chaos in : there is a distinct possibility of another country being invaded in the near future.

's surprise attack against Armenian separatists seized the disputed enclave last month. Now, Azerbaijan is poised to invade .

Armenia has relied on Moscow for protection for decades. On the fringes of the Middle East, the South Caucasus region was responsible for 90% of Soviet oil production.

The Kremlin's failure to prevent a more favorable outcome for Armenia seems to have emboldened Azerbaijani President .

The Daily Wire's Ryan Saavedra explains:

POLITICO reported that the is concerned that conflict in the Middle East could soon spread after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made recent remarks that he will retake the region “by force” after he invaded the Nagorno-Karabakh region last month.

Blinken claimed that the Biden administration was looking for ways to hold Azerbaijan accountable, including cutting off military assistance to the country. U.S. officials reportedly believe that the invasion could happen in the next several weeks.

The report, based on the way it was written, suggested that the administration only briefed Democrat lawmakers, saying that he expressed confidence about ongoing talks between the nations “to the Democratic lawmakers.”

The U.S. would cut off funding to Azerbaijan by not renewing a waiver that allows the U.S. to do so, which it has renewed every year for the last two decades.

Analysts believe that the Azerbaijani military has an advantage over the Armenian military, which will likely impact Aliyev's decision-making.

    • No… Armenia has relied on Moscow for protection for decades and been responsible for 90% of Soviet oil production. So just like the Soviets destroyed their own undersea gas pipelines it’s best to let them destroy their own oil production in Armenia!
