According to a new report initially broken by CBS News, a Department of Justice criminal probe into the attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election results has increasingly focused on communication within former President Trump’s inner circle.
The probe — and the decision to bring two former top Pence aides to testify before a grand jury — represents the most aggressive investigative step taken by the DOJ so far.
The developments show that DOJ is closely scrutinizing Trump’s role in this alleged scheme.
CNN adds:
It signals that the Department’s probe has reached inside former President Donald Trump’s White House and that investigators are looking at conduct directly related to Trump’s and his closest allies’ efforts to overturn his election defeat.
Former Pence chief of staff Marc Short testified in front of a grand jury in DC on Friday, CNN has confirmed. Fellow Pence aide Greg Jacob testified in recent weeks as well, CNN has learned from a source close to the investigation.
The questions to Jacob and Short included a focus on the fake elector scheme and the role of Trump lawyers John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani, the source said.
Following the 2020 election, Trump advisors who successfully promoted the unproven stolen election conspiracy theory proposed submitting an alternate slate of electors in several key states to challenge the electoral college vote in that state. The proposal was devised by former law professor and Trump attorney John Eastman, who claimed that then-Vice President Mike Pence had the constitutional authority to change electors at his discretion.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland previously promised that the DOJ would investigate Trump’s actions leading up to and during Jan. 6 without “fear or favor.” Garland called the department’s effort “the most wide-ranging investigation in its history” in an interview on Tuesday with NBC’s Lester Holt.

Responding to criticism that it is not acting quickly enough, Garland told NBC that the department was “moving urgently to learn everything we can learn about this period, and to bring to justice everybody who is criminally responsible for interfering with the peaceful transfer of power … which is the fundamental element of our democracy”.
The House January 6 committee could make a criminal referral. Whether it should, or will, and whether it has presented sufficient evidence to do so, is a matter of extensive debate around the US and on the committee itself.

Most of the people who made America great would not pass the inquisitions that are going on against Trump, going on for 6 years now. Most had mistresses, big egos, brash mannerisms but got the job done, better than any one else. That doesn’t count nowadays as shallow tacking points by haters seem to be the focus.
DOJ is just waiting for a more politically crucial moment to file charges .. like soon after Trump declares his intention to run, or closer to 2024 election.

The Fact that the 2020 Election was stolen by the shady, unethical & CRIMINAL actions in a widely-coordinated effort by Democrats and their Paid Operatives is UNDENIABLE — Far too much actual and verifiable evidence exists especially due to the efforts by “True the Vote” & Denish D’Sousa’s” honest and through Movie/DVD: “2000 Mules”!
The person, the Mule carrying multiple Ballots from a common Democrat-Activist Organization Location, Night-after-Night traveling their route to many different ballot boxes where each Official Video Surveillance (present at most Ballot Boxes & legally required at all locations) could repeatedly show the Mule dropping 3-5 ballots while stuffing many more into the slot in the ballot box then inserting the several dropped-ballots at multiple locations!!!
Since it was revealed that MULE-Fingerprints could be found and then matched to them as proof of Illegal Ballot Harvesting, many of the videos showed the same and multiple MULES wearing the same style blue-rubber-glove on their right hand, then turning & disposing of it with “Practiced Precision Knowing Exactly where the Trash Can was located near each Video-covered Ballot Box!
Then each of the Mules were shown taking a photo of the Drop Box where they had just illegally stuffed multiple Harvested Ballots as PROOF of each of their multiple Ballot Drops in order the receive payment from Democrat Activist Organizations that provided them the Harvested Ballots for Illegal Drops.
Many of the MULES and their Car Tags were Photographed and Identifiable via the official Surveillance Videos as being from out of State or out of the immediate area plus often their nightly runs (Sometime even in broad daylight with legal in-person witnesses that were lined up to vote in person, but who did not challenge the Mule or his obvious multiple ballot drop & multiple insertion actions and strange Photo-Op with the Voter Drop Box!)!
