Connecticut Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy is in hot water after openly admitting that the people his party cares about “the most” are illegal aliens, in an interview clip from 2024 that resurfaced this week.
In the resurfaced clip that went viral on Monday, Murphy told MS NOW host Chris Hayes during a 2024 interview that the Democratic party’s strategy hasn’t been working for the group they “care about most.”
“Chris, that’s been a failed play for 20 years. So, you are right that has been the Democratic strategy for 30 years, maybe, and it has failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country,” Murphy said while discussing his party’s efforts on immigration during the Biden administration.
Conservatives quickly honed in on the clip and argued it speaks to the root cause of why Democrats haven’t been motivated to end the DHS shutdown that they voted for in February in opposition to ICE. “This has absolutely proven to be true and never more than this week,” Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, posted on X. “Senate Democrats have allowed 260,000 American workers to be used as political pawns so that they could protect criminal aliens that invaded our nation. Sick stuff.”
“He really said it,” Fox News contributor Guy Benson posted on X.
“Treachery,” Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted on X.
“And this guy is going to run for President…,” former White House press secretary and Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer posted on X.
Long a signature issue of President Donald Trump, illegal immigration became a prominent issue in the 2024 campaign and has become a major flash point of President Trump’s second term.
Authorities recently announced the arrest of Jose Medina-Medina, a Venezuelan immigrant who was released into America under former President Joe Biden after being arrested by Border Patrol, in the alleged shooting and killing of female college freshman Sheridan Gorman near her Loyola University campus as she attempted to flee, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Fetterman suggested on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” that Democrats were not properly mourning the killing or accepting accountability for it.
Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman (D) on Tuesday criticized his party over its response to an illegal immigrant allegedly killing female college freshman Sheridan Gorman.
“[W]e have to require to protect America from the dangerous elements that shouldn’t even be here illegally always,” he said.
“I think only seven or eight Democrats even voted for Laken Riley. Why can’t you just agree that if you’re breaking the law and you’re already here illegally, deport them,” Fetterman added. “I just don’t understand. And then tragedies just like what happened to that young woman, they are going to continue to happen. That’s justice, that’s beyond common sense. Why can’t you just support this? Why is that unreasonable to anybody?”
Host Bill Hemmer asked Fetterman if he knew the answer to his question. Fetterman said he assumed it was due to Democrats fearing their base, highlighting the backlash he has faced for his positions.
“But I’d rather be on the moral clarities or on the kinds of right side of history or the correct kinds of principles,” he said.
Border Patrol nabbed and released Medina-Medina twice in 2023, according to a Sunday DHS press release.
“Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life. She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said. “We are calling on [Democratic Illinois] Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago’s sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this criminal illegal alien from jail back into American neighborhoods.”
A spokesperson for Pritzker’s office told the Daily Caller News Foundation on Monday that it anticipated the alleged killer would “be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law” and expressed “thoughts” for those mourning the fatal shooting of Gorman.

It is quite funny how Fetterman doesn’t have a clue about the demo-degenerate party at this point in time! They don’t care who gets murdered as long as they keep the numbers of illegals counted for representatives in their districts! Get them in, get them counted and hold power. They wouldn’t be fighting the save act if they were not so desperate to lose illegal votes. Don’t forget the harvesting they do in nursing homes, and the infirmed who can’t vote in person. Personally, if you are not of sound mind you shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Of course that would mean democraps wouldn’t be allowed!
