CNN is continuing with its long string of changes, this time prime-time anchor Don Lemon is up on the chopping block.
While Lemon hasn’t been fired yet, his role with CNN is about to look different. On Thursday, the network announced the end of the primetime show “Don Lemon Tonight” and revealed the anchor will now move to mornings.
Lemon will join CNN hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins on the “re-imagined” morning show that will replace the long-struggling “New Day.”
Fox News reported that John Bernan narrowly survived getting axed from the network and will continue to anchor “New Day” with Brianna Keilar until the new morning program premiers. The two will be given new roles within the network but details have yet to be released as to exactly what those roles will be.
New CNN President Christ Licht has made a point to remove highly partisan anchors and programs from the network in hope of returning CNN to its news-first roots. Keilar’s liberal leanings raised concerns she would be shown the door as the network continues to revamp but it appears she’s sticking around, at least for now. Details of Keilar’s next role were not made clear. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It is also unclear what Berman, who is beloved by rank-and-file CNN employees, will do next for the network. He regularly fills in for primetime hosts and is seen as a versatile anchor.
“I am excited for what comes next,” Berman told Fox News Digital.
The latest change to CNN’s line-up finally removes two ket programs from the Jeff Zucker-era of CNN which failed to attract viewers. The move leaves CNN with a gaping hole in primetime, as “Cuomo Prime Time” still has not been replaced after its anchor was fired last year. (RELATED: Chris Cuomo Accused of Sex Attack Before Firing)
“New Day” managed only 396,000 average viewers to rank as the 42nd most-watched cable news program during the news-heavy month of August.“Don Lemon Tonight” averaged only 660,000 viewers in August to rank No. 40 among cable news programs despite its cushy primetime slot.
One thing is clear, no CNN star is safe under Licht’s new leadership and he is dedicated to shedding the radically liberal reputation the network earned throughout the Trump administration. The last question that remains is what will he do next? Tell us what you think in the comments below!

I think Mr, Licht is on the right path to trying to save sinking CNN. Unfortunately, when reputation is lost, it is very hard to restore it. It’s not nearly enough to make cosmetic changes and the move of removing the most obnoxious propagandists from the network looks a good move. What is lacking though is that CNN must publicly admit their fall for leftist ideology and loudly announce that it will never again bend to Marxist ideology, ever.
Totally agree that they need to renounce all of their lies and biased reporting.
The problem with CNN is that it is fake news. Even if they promised to never again prop up the democrats and their Marxist ideology, how are we to believe them? They have said that they put on two hours of hard news daily, but with five minutes of weather each hour times twenty-four hours you get two hours of their hard news. The rest is just their garbage opinions.
Great news as it looks like Licht is serious about cleaning house. It’s a shame he didn’t take it one step further and show him the door once and for all. He is one of the most divisive hosts on all of cable and network TV.
I’m old enough to remember when he worked for the CBS affiliate in Phila and seemed to be a decent reporter with no real biases.It’s really amazing how that uber liberal philosophy changed him over the years.

It will take a long time before CNN would earn back my trust. They need a scorched earth policy with their current roster and bring in non political real journalists that challenge the Biden dangerous policies.

There is NOTHING CNN can do to justify or make amends for their vile and discussing betrail of the American people. They purposely and cunningly manipulated their viewers. They presented half truths and distorted the facts. They boldly, straight up in your face lied to the American public to push a political and social agenda. They never once apologized or even acknowledged when they were caught red-handed presenting innuendo, lies, and imagined “what if’s” as actual facts. They created the news to fit their agenda and hurt people in the process. Change at CNN can’t be change enough without sincere acknowledgement of sins past and true remorse. CNN has run its course and its time for someone else to step up. Good bye CNN, the country is better off without you.

Seems to me that the next reasonable ‘adjustment’ to the CNN prime time lineup is to reintroduce the show “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump. That would serve to ‘wash off’ the negative stigma of the network without having to apologize personally to Trump for vilifying him unmercifully…. for YEARS. It would also immediately raise that time slot to the million viewer market.
Great idea! Lemmon and Cooper are too vicious to be rehabilitated. They have lied so much; they believe their lies. Sadly, the viewers of CNN and MSNBC have not received information about what’s really happening.
CNN is overdue for reorganizing. Just remember when CNN was created; it was great with news and business. Sadly, too many vicious people are anchoring at CNN and don’t report what’s really happening. CNN starves their viewers of the truths.

I think it’s important to note that it was Donald Trump who brought this garbage network down to it’s knees. He is the one who called them out for what they were.
