Jay Leno Makes Return to Stage After Hospitalization – But There’s a Problem

-

Comedian Jay Leno was recently released from the hospital after receiving burn treatment for nine days but made a big stumble before returning to the big stage.

As Leno arrived at the Comedy Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, CA the comedian brushed a police car. Leno checked in with the police officer regarding any damage before entering the comedy club where a sold-out crowd awaited, according to Fox News.

“I got burned. I was in the hospital for a few days, and now I'm back out working again,” Leno said, downplaying his return with a laugh. “People do this every day.”

Arsenio Hall and Jimmy Brogan opened for Leno, who reportedly included jokes about his burn injuries within his comedy set.

“No comic would leave the Grossman burn center, and do stand-up Sunday in Hermosa!” Hall told ET, joking, “I lost my big toe nail after someone stepped on my foot at the Super Bowl last year. I canceled three stand-up dates after that.”

As he arrived, Leno joked that he had two shows that night: “Regular and extra crispy.”

The comedian received treatment for his injuries at the Grossman Burn Center after suffering third-degree burns to his face, hands, and chest.

As American Liberty News previously reported:

The longtime host of “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno sustained serious injuries Sunday when one of the cars in his Burbank garage caught fire.

Flames scorched the left side of Leno's face but didn't affect his eyes or inner ear, according to TMZ. Leno, 72, remains in serious condition at Los Angele's Grossman Burn Center.

Leno has since released a statement: “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

  1. I miss Leno. After he took over for Carson on The Tonight Show, I was a little bit skeptical, but grew to really like and respect his comedy. Our generation, if you had obligations to fulfill, and in this case lets face it, the man doesn’t need the money, you always kept your word to honor your end of the deal. Otherwise, Knuckles are flying, not like bullets these punk’s shoot nowadays.Leno is a bad ass for showing up. Young people, settle things with your tongues or your fist, instead of a firearm. Nobody went to prison for life because of a fist fight.
