Ex-Fox News personality Juan Williams is raising eyebrows yet again.
In an op-ed for The Hill, the liberal commentator referred to President Biden as “our third Black president.”
The unprecedented claim sparked backlash online. The United States has had only one African-American president, though Toni Morrison famously called Bill Clinton “the first Black president.”
Williams noted that “by Morrison's standard, President Joe Biden is our nation's third Black president” before explaining what he had done to earn that title.
The New York Post's Ariel Zilber explains:
He cited Biden's naming Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate, the appointment of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and naming Lloyd Austin as the first ever African American secretary of defense.
Williams credited Biden for presiding over “the lowest Black unemployment rate on record” as well as a “faster rate of creation of Black-owned small business in the last 25 years.”
The Fox News journalist continued to depict Biden as a champion for racial equality. “And in all the negotiations over the debt ceiling, Biden put his trust in a Black woman, Shalanda Young, Biden's director of the Office of Management and Budget and the first Black person in that job. Apart from elevating Black people, Biden's record includes real help for Black America.”
Not everyone on X (formerly Twitter) agreed that the president transcends race.
“Why would you write something so disrespectful? Are you folks trying to insult and alienate Black Americans!” one X user wrote.
Another X user noted that it was then-Senator Biden (D-Del.) who was one of the sponsors of a 1994 bill that was enacted into law and later blamed for increasing the prison population of African Americans who were convicted of nonviolent crimes.
“The man who authored the crime bill?” they mused.

As to Biden’s picks of more Blacks in position of power: that appeasement to keep the Black vote while he destroys the black citizens with high crime, inflation, crappy schools. and low wages because of letting in all the illegals taking the unskilled jobs. Most of his appointees are equally incompetent – black, white, hispanic or whatever.
