Trump Swears He’ll Take The Stand In Highly Anticipated Trial

-

In his first “” interview since Chuck Todd's departure, former President made an explosive revelation to host .

During the interview, Welker asked Trump about his indictment in the case. Trump adamantly denied allegations that he had asked staff to delete incriminating security camera footage at Mar-a-Lago.

When asked if he would testify under oath, Trump responded with “sure.”

Mediaite explains:

Special Counsel  filed three additional charges against Trump in July to go with the other 88 felony counts he faces: one additional count of unlawful retention of National Defense Information and two new obstruction counts based on allegations that Trump and co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira attempted to delete surveillance video footage at The Mar-a-Lago Club in the summer of 2022.

In a preview of her Trump interview for Meet the Press that aired on Friday morning's edition of NBC's Today Show, Trump attacked Smith and denied deleting the surveillance footage — which, co-ancho Savannah Guthrie pointed out following the clip, is not what he's accused of:

Trump pleaded not guilty twice in 24 hours last month after Special Counsel Jack Smith brought additional charges in the classified documents case.

On August 10, Trump waived his right to be present in court for his arraignment in Fort Pierce, and entered his plea on the three additional charges.

A superseding indictment revealed charges related to allegations that “the boss” instructed Mar-a-Lago's head of maintenance, Carlos De Oliveira, to delete incriminating security footage.

“Mar-a-lago security tapes were not deleted. They were voluntarily handed over to the thugs, headed up by deranged Jack Smith,” Trump responded in a post. “We did not even go to court to stop them from getting these tapes. I never told anybody to delete them. Prosecutorial fiction & misconduct! Election interference!”
