Former Republican President Donald Trump and current Democrat President Joe Biden have both been declared as winners of their respective party primaries in the state of Georgia.
WABE has more:
“The AP called the races not long after the polls closed at 7 p.m.
Georgia's delegates will put Biden over the top and allow him to clinch the Democratic nomination. Trump may also secure his party's nomination tonight, which would finalize a rematch between Biden and Trump this fall when Georgia will be key.
Underscoring Georgia's importance, both candidates held dueling rallies in the state over the weekend.”
At his rally, Donald Trump emphasized the need to secure the border in the wake of the murder of Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley, while President Joe Biden apologized for calling Riley's alleged killer an “illegal” immigrant.
