Report: Train Carrying Toxic Chemicals Derails in Michigan

-

A train transporting hazardous chemicals has reportedly derailed in Van Buren Township outside Detroit, Michigan, reports say.

Police told Fox2 Detroit that there were no injuries and the area is not a hazmat situation.

Officials that spoke to WXYZ, which reported that at least six cars were seen off the track, said one of them was carrying hazardous materials.

The cause of the derailment was not immediately clear.

The derailment comes less than two weeks after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio.

As American Liberty News previously reported:

Dozens of train cars operated by Norfolk Southern carrying toxic chemicals derailed from their tracks on February 5th, and more details about the impact of the accident continue to be unearthed by the day.

The potential environmental impact of this train derailment could be much greater than reports currently indicate.

Train derailments can have significant environmental impacts, especially when hazardous materials are involved. The train that derailed in East Palestine, Ohio last week was transporting a number of hazardous materials, including vinyl chloride, a colorless gas that is a carcinogen.

The , especially Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg has faced harsh criticism for its lack of action and messaging surrounding the accident in Ohio.

During a town hall Wednesday evening, Ohio residents questioned why Buttigeieg was not present.

“Where's Pete Buttigieg? Where's he at?” one man asked Mayor Trent Conaway, according to Fox News.

“I don't know. Your guess is as good as me,” the mayor replied.

He told attendees that Tuesday was the first time he had “heard anything from the White House.”

On Thursday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) revealed that the Biden administration's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is still refusing to offer assistance to Ohio.

“Ohio Governor Mike DeWine spoke with officials at the White House early this morning to address the need for federal help,” DeWine said in a statement. “As a result of this conversation, the Governor has requested assistance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health and Emergency Response Team, and the CDC to provide on-the-ground assistance in East Palestine.”

“The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time,” he continued. “Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided.”

  1. I blame the Ohio train derailment as well as the Detroit derailment on former President Barack Obama. During his term, he decrease the amount of money for repair maintenance, reduced the inspection time and the workforce needed to do the job from the federal Highway Transportation Budget so now, the hens have come home to roast with the train derailments. That Buttigieg needs to be fired! and the only reason why he got that job, is because he is a racist and a sodomite and all is well with JoeBama!

    • Good point! Yet I also fear the ugly specter of sabotage. Remember that so many of those ‘undocumented citizens’ leaking across the border in droves are unvetted. Some of them are from nations principally hostile to the US and all of its citizens. This train disaster is reported. Other incidents are marginally reported, for example, attacks on power facilities and food processing plants. I fear an emerging pattern, because the ship’s captain is asleep at the wheel.

  2. Please; not every story is enhanced by including a photo just for the sake of including a photo.
Why is American Liberty using a photo from the Ohio derailment to illustrate an article on a Michigan derailment? There is at least one photo of the subject derailment available, which shows a much less dramatic situation than the Ohio event. This is a wide-spread failure of internet publications, to insist on leading EVERY on-line story with a photo, far too often completely unrelated to the report at hand.
