Suspect In UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Murder Flees NYC As Investigation Uncovers New Clues: Report

Top internet sleuths refuse to help…

Law enforcement officials have revealed that the suspect believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Wednesday has reportedly left New York City by bus.

According to the NYPD, the suspect fled the scene of the assassination in Midtown Manhattan by pedaling uptown on a bicycle. Surveillance footage captured the individual heading toward the George Washington Bridge Bus Station. Police believe the suspect boarded a vehicle there, departing for an unknown destination.

The murder occurred outside a Hilton hotel hosting UnitedHealthcare’s annual investor conference. Investigators uncovered potential DNA evidence at the scene and discovered bullet casings engraved with cryptic messages: “deny,” “defend” and “depose.” These phrases also appear in the title of the 2010 book Delay, Deny, Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don’t Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It, sparking speculation about a possible connection.

On Thursday, the NYPD released a photograph of the suspect, who was not wearing a mask at the time. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

The FBI has since introduced a $50,000 reward.

NBC News provides more details on the challenges facing law enforcement in their pursuit, including reluctance from popular internet sleuths to assist—seemingly a reflection of the widespread contempt for the health insurance industry:

“I have yet to see a single video that’s pounding the drum of ‘we have to find him,’ and that is unique,” said Michael McWhorter, better known as TizzyEnt on TikTok, where he posts true crime and viral news content for his 6.7 million followers. “And in other situations of some kind of blatant violence, I would absolutely be seeing that.”

Thompson’s targeted killing has sparked online praise from people angry over the state of U.S. health care. Tens of thousands of people have expressed support on social media for the killing or sympathized with it. Some even appeared to celebrate it.

“The surge of social media posts praising and glorifying the killing of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson is deeply concerning,” Alex Goldenberg, a senior adviser at The Network Contagion Research Institute at Rutgers University previously told NBC News. (Thompson was CEO of UnitedHealthcare, not of UnitedHealth Group, its parent company.)

In a statement, Thompson’s family said he was “an incredibly loving father” to two sons and “will be greatly missed.”

Meanwhile, the investigation continues as law enforcement pursues leads to bring the perpetrator to justice.

I don’t condone murder but these ins. co. murder every day buy refusing what their doctors order, when a Doctor orders medication, test, surgery, ins. co. Has No right to deny, we pay for these criminals to play God and they refuse the help their Doctors order and these generics medication most are not any good, in some cases cause more problems, then they charge outrageous prices for non- generics, most are substandard medicine when it comes to painkillers, I can’t take most generics because of fillers they use I have many allergies, plus a blood disorder that limits my medicine, the crooked government has taken medicine that really worked away to save it for just the wealthy, using stupid excuses, the medicine that worked and really helped must be returned to the market, at resizable prices, before obamacare never paid over 20 dollars for any medication and medicine that really worked not this fake garbage

All insurance is based on risk management, mitigation and risk pools.

Health insurance unfortunately is way out of line. If illness or sickness is discovered, it needs to be covered as long as the health issue is not self-inflicted

Car insurance, property and casualty, and life insurance also are based on risk pools and matrixes.

I work in real estate title insurance. The difference is, we underwrite at the agency level and overall, the risks are evaluated the same way and the guidelines are clear cut.

The underwriting follows the same guidelines because it is based on property issues vs people issues.

Is it on a flood plain? Does the survey show encroachment of lot lines, etc. Know, existing issues that affect the insurability of a mortgage or owners policies against prior and know property issues and the chain of title Pretty cit and dried

Big pharma and big medicine are the flaw in the healthcare system And, state requirements vary from state to state since only the states can allow a particular insurer to do business in their state

Meaning not all companies or plan coverage is universal stste to state. And unfortunately, insurance is based on the fact that you pay in, realizing you may never collect.

Say you have P&C on your house, own it for 20 years never has a claim. You pay approx $3000 x 20 that’s $60,000 for the protection of ” just in case”. But if your house had a fire and a one time repair cost of current market bale of say $350k, the insurance is well worth the annual fee
