Did you see the recent ABC polling numbers?
Both President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are defeating the blundering idiot of a president, Joe Biden by 7 points!
Unfortunately, this poll is no reason to celebrate about our 2024 prospects of winning back the White House and control of the United States Senate. While these numbers look good, we have been lulled into thinking victory was on the horizon in the past. Last year the big red wave turned out to be just a ripple. We barely took back the House.
As Republicans, we are still facing a huge uphill battle to win. We cannot afford to fool ourselves into believing the election is in the bag. While it seems voters are waking up to the fact that Biden is not all there, that doesn't mean the Democrats are going to throw in the towel. They are like the Terminator. They don't stop. They play to win at all costs.
Our roadblocks to victory are numerous. They include Roe v. Wade being overturned, mail-in balloting, the media, big government, George Soros and Big Tech.
The Democrats are going to continue to use the Dobbs v. Jackson decision to scare women voters. We cannot assume that the anger has subsided because the decision is a couple of years old now. The GOP needs messaging to win women voters and it is not going to be the pocketbook, because we learned in 2022 that they vote vagina over financial issues.
Mail-in balloting is wrong. It should be repealed, but right now it is the law of the land in numerous states. Hence, as a party, we need to be better at it than the Democrats or we will just plain lose again and maybe forever. The best way to repeal this type of voting is to win in 2024!
It is no secret that the media is no friend to Republican candidates, but now even Fox News is gone. This makes it extremely hard for the GOP to get the message out without an unfavorable slant. The Republican National Committee should consider suing media outlets for their bias coverage which could be considered an in-kind contribution that is illegal for a corporation to do. At this point, the party has nothing to lose. The media never gives us a break.
The big government problem we are going to have to ride out, but when the next Republican administration takes over agencies such as the FBI, the IRS and the CIA have to be cleaned out!
The GOP needs a George Soros. We need big donors to step forward to fund groups that will fight all of his sabotaging of our country. This will take courage, because the media will savage these GOP funders but our nation's future is worth it. Our Founding Fathers put their lives on the line so we could be free. A couple of big donors can take some heat from the media to save us from socialism.
Lastly, Big Tech suppressing our ways to communicate must be addressed. Thankfully, Elon Musk is dealing with the Twitter problems but that's not enough. YouTube, Google and Facebook are still major problems. Lawsuits should happen, but we will not get the results fast enough. So, the GOP must figure out how to get their message out getting around Big Tech, which means we need to raise lots more money to advertise via the mail, text messaging and phones and we need the biggest grassroots army ever to visit voters at their homes.
We have to win in 2024. So don't let these polling numbers fool you. We are still the underdogs.
