Pelosi’s Husband Pleads Not Guilty After Crashing Porsche

has pled not guilty to two misdemeanor driving under the influence charges resulting in a car crash involving his 2021 Porsche last May.

The husband of did not appear in Napa County Superior Court. Instead, his attorney, Amanda Bevins, entered two not guilty pleas on behalf of her defendant, which is permissible for certain misdemeanors under law.

Mr. Pelosi, 82, received misdemeanor charges due to the injuries suffered by the 48-year-old driver of the other vehicle in the collision. (RELATED: Congresswoman Killed in Car Crash)

The driver's injuries are not publicly known, as they asked for privacy. According to the police report, the collision occurred at 10:17 p.m. on the night of May 28. A sample taken more than two hours later showed Mr. Pelosi had 0.082 percent blood alcohol content. The Hill further reports:

Nancy Pelosi's husband was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher, according to his booking report. He was later released on a $5,000 bail.

A representative for the Speaker's husband said previously that Paul Pelosi had been at a dinner party until about 10:15 p.m., and then drove the “short distance” home by himself. The representative added that Paul Pelosi was “fully cooperative” with authorities and that processing took until 7:30 a.m. the day following his arrest.

If convicted, he faces up to a minimum of five days in jail and up to five years of probation. He would also be required to complete a class on drunk driving and install an ignition interlock device in his vehicle — a breathalyzer that requires the driver to blow into it before operating the vehicle, according to the case's prosecutors.

The Pelosis married in 1963. Speaker Pelosi's office said it will not comment on the incident or legal proceedings.

  1. Why can’t we get rid of Nancy Pelosi? The people have had enough of this socialist fool idiot! Kevin McCarthy for speaker of the house in January! Pelosi needs to go home & bake cookies for her grandchildren!

    • Only the other members of the US House can get rid of her. (Well, the voters … but that’s not going to happen in San Francisco.)
