Report: Bob Menendez Hires Hunter Biden’s Lawyer For Federal Corruption Case

-

Embattled Senator Bob Menendez (D) has reportedly hired the same lawyer representing after he was indicted last week on federal corruption charges.

CNBC reported that Menendez hired to represent him in the case, the same attorney he hired in 2015 to represent him in a similar corruption case.

The Democrat Senator is facing up to 45 years in prison if convicted of the charges, which include conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right.

In the federal indictment, Menendez and his wife are accused of accepting bribes from three business people in exchange for actions he took as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. (RELATED: US Sen. Bob Menendez and Spouse Indicted)

“Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,” the indictment said. Federal authorities reportedly found gold bars and nearly $500,000 in cash stuffed throughout the senator's home that they traced back to the businessmen Menendez allegedly worked with.

Menendez responded to the indictment by suggesting that he was the victim of a vast conspiracy that was plotting against him, in-part because he was Latino.

“It is not lost on me how quickly some are rushing to judge a Latino and push him out of his seat,” he later added. “I am not going anywhere.”

The New Jersey Democrat is facing calls to resign from both sides of the aisle. Over the weekend Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) joined the chorus of those demanding Menendez step down immediately.

Despite the bevy of charges facing him, Menendez announced his re-election campaign during a Monday press conference.

  1. well, biden has hunters lawyers gettign him off on everything so Mendez is hoping for the same.

    democrats are all criminals.

    • Don’t forget, NINETY TWO PERCENT (92%) of all MURDERS are committed by DEMOCRATS.
If you believe this is not true, do the research.

  2. Does anyone really think the Democrats will allow one of their own to go to jail?? Biden will pardon him in a heartbeat when his handlers tell him to

  3. How many times does Menendez think he can get away with his bribery & fraud every couple of years. Democrats never pay the price for their criminal actions.

  4. Menendez was not indicted because he is Latino because despite that he has been in congress for four decades. He was indicted because he disgraced himself and his ethnicity. Mr. Pinocchio stated during his press conference that cash found in his closet in jackets was from savings accounts. So how did it have fingerprints and DNA of his co-defendants from whom he is alleged to take bribes? After his last indictment in 2015 that ended in a mistrial and a judge subsequently dismissing all charges against him you would think he would have learned a lesson, but he thinks he is above the law.
