The Biden family is not out of the woods yet.
Hours after the President’s son Hunter reportedly reached a plea deal top Congressional Republicans say that their investigations into the Biden family’s business dealing are far from over.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said a plea deal will not deter the current investigations into the Biden’s wrongdoings.
“It continues to show the two-tier system in America,” McCarthy said of Hunter Biden’s plea deal. “If you are the president’s leading political opponent, the DOJ tries to literally put you in jail and give you prison time. But if you are the president’s son, you get a sweetheart deal.”
“Now this does nothing to our investigation,” McCarthy told reporters Tuesday morning. “It actually should enhance our investigation because the DOJ should not be able to withhold any information now saying that there’s a pending investigation. They should be able to provide [House Oversight Committee] Chairman [James] Comer [R-Ky.] with any information that he requires.”
On Tuesday, Hunter Biden agreed to plead guilty to two federal misdemeanor counts of failing to pay his taxes and reached a diversion agreement related to unlawful possession of a weapon. (RELATED: Hunter Biden To Plead Guilty To Tax, Gun Crimes)
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) pledged to continue his panel’s investigation into the Biden family’s business practices.
“These charges against Hunter Biden and sweetheart plea deal have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation,” Comer said. “We will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed.”
“Let’s be clear: the Department of Justice’s charges against President Biden’s son Hunter reveal a two-tiered system of justice,” Comer said Tuesday morning. “Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling, and possibly bribery.”
Biden has been under federal investigation since 2018.
Comer’s investigation has most recently focused on the FBI-generated FD-1023 form alleging a criminal bribery scheme between then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national that involved influence over U.S. policy decisions.

Lisa Monaco, DOJ will do whatever possible to get Hunter off and protect Biden. She’s been behind all the dirty deals since Obama first put her in office. She runs the show.
