Mike Studeman, the director of the Office of Naval Intelligence, also pushed back on the idea the US should discontinue its policy of “strategic ambiguity” regarding Taiwan.

RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR
TESTING US RESPONSE – US Air Force fighter jets conduct back-to-back intercepts of Russian aircraft near Alaska. U.S. Air Force fighter jets intercepted a group of Russian military aircraft off of Alaska on Tuesday, the U.S. military’s second such intercept in as many days, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) announced on Thursday.
Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 359. The Munich Security Conference kicks off on Friday with an opening video address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron will also be attending the summit.
Missiles pound Ukraine as Russia eyes Bakhmut’s capture by April. Russia rained missiles across Ukraine on Thursday and struck its largest oil refinery, Kyiv said, while the head of the Wagner mercenary group predicted the long-besieged city of Bakhmut would take weeks if not months to fall.

The United States brought its most advanced fighter jet, the F-35, to India for the first time this week alongside F-16s, Super Hornets and B-1B bombers as Washington looks to woo New Delhi away from its traditional military supplier, Russia.
KEEPING KILLER ROBOTS FROM GOING GLOBAL – GOOD LUCK WITH THAT – US launches artificial intelligence military use initiative. The United States launched an initiative Thursday promoting international cooperation on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and autonomous weapons by militaries, seeking to impose order on an emerging technology that has the potential to change the way war is waged.

IT’S ABOUT TIME WE GOT THIS NEW NUKE ICBM – Sentinel ICBM ‘on track’ for flight test this year: Senior USAF official. According to the Congressional Research Service, due to its modular design and increased throw weight, the Sentinel ICBM could be equipped “with two or three warheads to meet the international security environment.”
