I could not be more excited about Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy heading up the new Department of Government Efficiency. The federal government doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem.
We have thousands of government agencies spending money. With the federal debt now $36 trillion, it is long overdue that we have one department focused on cutting spending.
I agree with Musk and Ramaswamy that Elizabeth Warren’s so-called consumer protection agency should be high on the chopping block. Where else should they cut? I have a few suggestions to help make their mission easier:
Ending quasi-government paid lobbying. Semi-government agencies such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should not be spending millions of dollars to lobby Congress.
Hiring freeze for all nonessential employees. This will start the draining of the swamp. The federal government should be encouraging job creation in the private sector not within government.
No new entitlements.
No more bailouts. The federal government should not be picking winners and losers.
No more subsidies for solar and wind turbines. If these industries are viable, then they will succeed without subsidies.
Reduce number of federally owned vacant properties.
No more nonprofit grants. No matter what is claimed by groups such as Planned Parenthood, their grant money is trickled down to be used against us in elections. Enough is enough!
Cut federal aid to sanctuary states. If they want the illegals so much, they don’t deserve any of our tax dollars.
Take back all unspent ARPA funds.
Repeal Obamacare.
One year pay freeze for all federal employees.
Privatize Amtrak.
Reduce farm subsidies.
Cut the Congressional franking privilege.
No money for Ukraine.
Require congressional members to join the same pension system as all other federal employees.
Most importantly, Musk and Ramaswamy should use Citizens Against Government Waste’s PIG book to help cut the pork. I think that they will find there is more than $2 trillion that can be cut in D.C.

Cancel the $7500 rebate for buying EVs
Privatize the Post Office
Close the IRS and institute a flat tax on all income
They should be as aggressive as they can. Compare each and every federal program and agency to the constitution. Any that have no authority under that document should be eliminated. All that are left, and it should be very few, should then be looked at as to how effective they are at their intended goals. Any that do poorly should be give 6-12 months to get up to speed or be eliminated.
You recommend “One year pay freeze for all federal employees” … how about a one year pay and benefits freeze for Congress!!
Eliminate U.S. support for the U.N. and cease paying NATOs way. Send the U.N. to Belgium, that nation with an inflated opinion of its weak,war losing self.
