Florida Republican governor and current presidential candidate Ron DeSantis accepted California Governor Gavin Newsom‘s (D) debate challenge on Wednesday.
The showdown is months in the making after Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Newsom in June if he would willing to debate the Sunshine State governor in a live broadcast. (RELATED: DeSantis Responds To Newsom Debate Challenge)
According to Hannity, the event would be a “policy-based debate” between the governor of a blue state and the governor of a red state.
Newsom replied, “I'm all in. Count on it.”
Hannity then asked, “You would do a two-hour debate with Ron DeSantis?” to which Newsom quipped, “Make it three.”
“Florida has been the number one state for net in-migration,” DeSantis told Hannity. “We have the number one ranked economy, [we're] number one now in education, crime rate at a 50-year low. But in another sense, this is the debate for the future of our country. Because you have people like Joe Biden—they would love to see the Californi-cation of the United States … And I think if we go down that direction, that's going to accelerate American decline,” adding, “We can't see America decline anymore.”
Though no date has been scheduled yet for the debate, a spokesman for Newsom said in a statement, “Governor Newsom has been challenging DeSantis to debate for months and sent him a formal debate offer last week. Nov. 8 or 10 — DeSantis should put up or shut up. Anything else is just games.”

This possible debate is meaningless & not worth the time, each just trying to stay relevant. One of them might be better at it, but we know what each will say, and we should know that they both lie as necessary. DeSantis vs. Newsom is just different colors of big-money globalist donor interests.
