Outgoing General Claims Trump Will Put His Critics In Jail, Starting With Himself

-

The outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs was the subject of an astonishing profile in The Atlantic this week.

Reflecting on his tenure under President and anticipating a brutal presidential election, Gen. issued a dire warning: if the former president won reelection, he would imprison his critics – starting with Milley himself.

The article portrayed Milley as a stalwart defender of the Constitution, quietly working behind the scenes to prevent Trump from starting a nuclear war.

Milley said that Trump would lack the guardrails in a second term that contained his worst impulses.

Mediaite's Alex Griffing explains:

“If Trump is reelected president, there will be no Espers or Milleys in his administration. Nor will there be any officials of the stature and independence of , , or ,” Goldberg wrote, listing some of Trump's former Pentagon leaders and key White House officials.

“Trump and his allies have already threatened officials they see as disloyal with imprisonment, and there is little reason to imagine that he would not attempt to carry out his threats,” Goldberg continued, adding:

Milley has told friends that he expects that if Trump returns to the White House, the newly elected president will come after him. “He'll start throwing people in jail, and I'd be on the top of the list,” he has said. But he's also told friends that he does not believe the country will reelect Trump.

Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic, noted when he asked Milley about the quote the general did not directly address it, but instead voiced his “optimism” for the future of the country.

“I have a lot of confidence in the general officer corps, and I have confidence in the American people. The United States of America is an extraordinarily resilient country, agile and flexible, and the inherent goodness of the American people is there. I've always believed that, and I will go to my grave believing that,” Milley said.

    • How this guy ever got promoted to where he is now is a real mystery. Of course when obama cleaned out the real military leaders and replaced them with political hacks that follow his line thinking, Milley fell right in line with everything so he stayed and moved on up the ranks. If we have a democrat sweep next year this country is going to be in even bigger trouble than they are right now. Will a second American revolution be on the horizon?

  1. Let us hope so General Milley, the DOJ, FBI and many Military Officers have fallen under the guise of becoming democrat followers and disobedient to the entire United States. A shake-up of all democrat power needs fixing.

  2. Frankly, it’s astonishing that this empty shell rose to that rank. He must have done SOMETHING, SOMETIME, but I have not looked him up.
He should be tried for treason.

  3. America does need to launch a clean out of America’s highest ranking military leaders to rid itself of the top traitors such as Milley. Same with corrupt politicians and agency heads. A military Tribunal might work with military traitors but a coup d’ état might be more appropriate for removing corrupt politicians.

  4. Writer Goldberg seems to be an apologist for the Guilty Minds of the Deep State.
Gen Milley’s comments are known as “Mens Rea” (Guilty mind) Milley’s defense is to try and make Trump more guilty then the Guilty Cabal Milley belongs to.

  5. I can well imagine President Trump threatening to put people in jail. Every time he discovered somebody doing something illegal, unconstitutional or in violation of the oath they took as either a public “servant” or a member of the United States military. I wonder how many Trump came across on an average every day. Most of us who did swear an oath of allegiance to preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States do not believe that oath has an expiration date.

  6. Milley did this to himself when he schmoozed with his Chinese counterpart and assured him that he would warn him if the US Commander-in-chief made any effort to alter our relations with the nuclear adversary Chinese Communist Party. He made Julius and Ethel Rosenberg look like patriots. General, you should have resigned in protest and run for political office a couple rows of medals ago.

  7. So he’s concerned that democrats like him will be treated the way the administration is treating the January 6th guys. Got it.

  8. Not understanding proper English and the definitions of said language is the bane of liberals everywhere. If one does something ILLEGAL, one should expect to go to jail. If one does NOT do something illegal, one should NOT expect going to jail.

That’s why Trump has NOT been jailed yet, no matter how hard the Democrats try. And that’s why Democrats and all their ilk should be VERY, VERY WORRIED once we get an honest former president and administration back into the White House.

  9. if the former president won reelection, he would imprison his critics – starting with Milley himself.” so milley is admitting he did something wrong.

milley should be grateful he still had a job after coordinating with China.
