As The Washington Times reports:
“People I know and who I trust speak well of him and I’m looking forward to meeting with him,” Mr. Cornyn said, adding that he’s working to schedule a face-to-face.
He said people he has “great respect for” have “highly recommended” Mr. Patel and that the FBI nominee has “vast experience.
Mr. Cornyn said he met with Pam Bondi, President-elect Donald Trump’s second pick for attorney general, on Wednesday and that she also spoke “highly of [Patel].”
This comes as other Trump Cabinet and administration picks venture to Capitol Hill to talk with senators.
Patel, a seasoned attorney and national security expert, was named by President-elect Donald Trump as his pick for FBI director in an announcement on Trump’s Truth Social platform on Nov. 30.
At 44, Patel has amassed a notable career in intelligence, counterterrorism and national security. His tenure includes serving as senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council and as chief of staff to acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. Patel was also a deputy assistant to Trump, focusing on national security matters.
He gained prominence during Trump’s first term for his role in exposing FBI surveillance of Trump’s 2016 campaign, which he and Trump allies have characterized as part of a broader “deep state” effort against the administration. His investigative work on the Russia probe cemented his reputation among conservative activists as a staunch critic of the FBI.
A Push for Change
If confirmed, Patel’s leadership could mark a period of significant reform for the FBI. His outspoken criticism of the agency’s past actions, combined with his close alignment with Trump, suggests a possible overhaul of its operations and priorities. Patel’s supporters view him as a reformer capable of addressing what they perceive as systemic issues within the bureau.
Kash Patel: "I'd shut down the FBI Hoover Building on day one and reopen it the next day as a museum of the Deep State. Then, I’d take the 7,000 employees that work in that building and send them across America to chase down criminals. Go be cops. You're cops—go be cops."

The left must do its utmost to completely ruin/destroy Trump’s nominees and everybody else associated with Trump, just as they have been working to destroy Trump for nine solid years. How else can the Marxist/Socialist dialectic be made palatable to the American public?
