‘80s Star Known For Iconic Comedy Dead At 64

A beloved character from the cult classic comedy “Porky's” has passed away.

' fiancée, Amanda, confirmed to Fox News the actor went into cardiac arrest the day after emergency surgery for a spinal cord infection. He was 64.

Ganios most famously played a high school senior nicknamed “Meat” in the 1981 raunchfest about a group of teenage boys determined to help each other loose their virginity.

“I just love him so much,” Amanda told Fox News. “I don't know how else I can express it.”

“Porky's” went on to become the fifth highest-grossing film that year and continues to inspires teenage comedies. His other notable credits include “The Wanderers;” “Back Roads,” alongside Sally Fields; and “Die Hard 2,” where Bruce Willis dispatched Ganios with an icicle:

Ganios also appeared on the small screen in television shows like “The Equalizer,” “The Ring of the Musketeers” and “Wiseguy.”

Tony appeared to have stepped away from showbiz in the '90s, with his last film credit being “Rising Sun” in 1993, according to IMDb.
