Police arrested Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Saturday night.
The arrest followed a traffic stop in Napa County, California. After pulling Mr. Pelosi over, the officer discovered he had been driving under the influence.
Mr. Pelosi was booked into the Napa County Correction Department early Sunday and released later that morning.
TMZ was the first media outlet to report the story.
Fox News has more on the preliminary details:
Paul Pelosi, 82, has been married to Nancy since 1963.
A spokesperson for Rep. Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that she would not be commenting on the “private” matter.
“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” the spokesperson said.
Speaker Pelosi gave the commencement speech to graduates of Rhode Island's Brown University earlier today. She reportedly urged the class of 2022 to unite our deeply divided country.
Too bad he didn’t crash and burn.
What ever cop stopped him better watch his back, nobody crosses her without paying dearly for it. Her speech telling that graduating class to heal this divided country is a joke. She and the rest of the left wing liberal democrats that make up the biggest part of our government are the problem. Purge them from office and we might have a chance to be a united country again.
I’m very glad that Mr. Pelosi did not crash his vehicle and burn to death. I don’t even understand the level of hate that could prompt someone to hope for such an outcome. Sure, Nancy Pelosi has done a great deal to undermine our Constitutional republic, imperil our prosperity and weaken America’s presence on the world stage, but her husband doesn’t deserve to die a gruesome death.
