In Case You Missed It: Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Challenges Trump’s Narrative

-

In an appearance on ' “ Buzz” with Howard Kurtz, Fox News star said that former President Trump needed to learn to lose instead of baselessly claiming that voter fraud cost him reelection.

The “Fox & Friends” co-host kicked off his appearance by saying that Trump had still not proven anything in the 14 months since the .

Kilmeade told Kurtz, “I think that in life, you have to learn to lose. Hillary Clinton has to learn that. You know, Al Gore pretty much did learn that. Stacey Abrams didn't learn that.”

As Mediaite reports:

“Is it anti-Trump by the media to report the fact that there is no significant evidence of widespread fraud?” asked Kurtz.

“It isn't,” Kilmeade replied, also agreeing with Kurtz that Trump's “re-litigating 2020 is not helping the country.”

As Kurtz mentioned, this was not the first time Kilmeade has made such comments on air. On Friday's episode of Fox & Friends, he implored his viewers to accept the election results, and specifically called out Trump's baseless election fraud claims. “That doesn't help the country,” he said.

The House select committee investigating the U.S. Capitol riot previously revealed that Kilmeade was one of several Fox News personalities who texted then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Jan. 6 to urge Trump to call for an end to the riot.

“Please get him on TV. Destroying everything you have accomplished,” Kilmeade wrote.

Trump hasn't publicly responded to Kilmeade. However, he did hang up on NPR's Steve Inskeep on Tuesday morning after Inskeep challenged Trump on his unsubstantiated election fraud claims.

  1. Well Brian , then tell us how a 78 year old man that has run for president more than once and couldn’t get more than 10% support ( old 10% Joe) can hide in his basement for 3 months ,,come out for a press conference and get maybe a dozen people to show but miraculously get more votes than any president ever.. then so say no fraud ..that is the dumbest thing I ever heard of !!

  2. I voted for Trump in 2020 and I do think that the election was not an open and honest one,but I am one of many, many who are tired of Trump’s obsession with this. He will definitely jeopardize the results of a 2024 election because he rubs many people the wrong way and they vote against him, not against the Republican platform. I wish he would step back behind the curtain and be an advisor, not a candidate. His platform was wonderful and he did almost everything he promised as a candidate; yet people could not get themselves for vote for Trump the person. We absolutely need to take the White House in 2924 and he is not the man to get out the vote, except from his stalwart followers. Can anyone reason with him? I hope so

    • I agree with you, Keith, There was considerable evidence and testimony supporting widespread manipulation of the election. Certainly enough to warrant further investigation, and the utter unwillingness of the judicial system to hear the arguments is deeply disturbing to me.

That being said, I also agree with Michael Sandler that Trump’s best strategy is to drop it for the present. He doesn’t need it to support his reinstatement, and it is polarizing. If he chooses to run in 2024 and is successful (very probable from what I have read) I would like to see him resolve the issue one way or another. If it did occur, I want to see the perpetrators identified and dealt with.

  3. Brian your one of many reasons why I won’t watch Fox. Tell the hundreds of thousands of people that showed up for his stop the steal rally that Trump refuses to except the election results. Tell the 50,000 people that showed up for the Arizona rally a week ago that they should except the outcome of the 2020 election results.. Trump has plenty of reasons the doubt his lose.
