The political repercussions from the “defund the police” campaign were immediate. Despite winning the White House in 2020, Democrats lost 13 seats in the House of Representatives. From Florida to California, a crimson wave swept across much of the country.
Yet Democratic officials in cities like Portland and Minneapolis doubled down on the harmful policies championed by their most radical constituents.

In New York City, then-Mayor Bill de Blasio cut $484 million from the NYPD’s budget. The ramifications were immediate with the department having to scrap a 1,200-person police recruiting class.

For Democrats, that reality is a dirty little secret. One they prefer to keep out of the spotlight. Yet Fox News’ Peter Doocy got White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to admit as much at today’s press briefing.

The more she talks and the longer she talks, the more we know she is trying to justify a failed position that is needed to be corrected.
Is the real Democratic end game to run local law enforcement so far into the ditch that people will gladly welcome a proposal to nationalize the police force? That’s a scary thought.
Democratic controlled cities started to soften on crime in the mid 1970’s . Reduce the charges, decline to prosecute . It was a way to reduce crowded prisons and placate those who only saw prosecution as a racial issue. Instead of equal enforcement we saw crimes left unpunished. All of us are still paying for it especially people of color.
